1. Project Overview
Destination Country: Saudi Arabia (Central & Western Precast PC Component Industrial Park)
Client Background: Chinese EPC general contractor, undertaking the third phase of the Saudi Vision 2030 affordable housing project, covering 641 sets of prefabricated villas.
Equipment List: 3 sets of MH10t Single Girder Gantry Cranes
Core Technical Parameters
Rated Lifting Capacity: 10 tons
Effective Span: 25m
Lifting Height: 10m
Power Supply: 380V / 60Hz / 3Ph (Saudi local standard)
Working Class: A5
Operation Mode: Cabin control + wireless remote control (backup)
Trade Term: FOB Tianjin Port
Delivery Cycle: 75 days for production + 12 days for sea transportation

2. Client Pain Points & On-site Challenges
The Saudi desert environment and engineering standards raised strict requirements for crane performance and documentation, which ordinary standard cranes could not meet:
Extreme Climate: Long-term high temperature up to 45℃, large temperature difference between day and night, and severe sandstorms. Ordinary paint peels and rusts within half a year, and conventional electrical cabinets are prone to dust failure.
High-frequency Heavy-duty Operation: 16-hour daily continuous working cycle, frequently lifting 3–7 tons of precast concrete wall panels.
Local Compliance Requirements: Complete English technical documents are mandatory, including general layout drawings, load calculation reports, material certificates, and factory test reports for Saudi government project acceptance.
Phased On-site Infrastructure: The factory track foundation was constructed in phases, requiring modular equipment design for phased delivery and installation.
After-sales Concerns: Long-distance overseas service cycle; the client required a complete package of wearing parts to ensure continuous operation.
3. Customized Solutions
We provided fully localized upgraded solutions adapting to Saudi desert working conditions and local standards:
Optimized Structural Design: Adopted box-type main beam instead of traditional truss structure to enhance wind resistance and sand impact resistance, ensuring stable operation under harsh desert conditions.
High-grade Anti-corrosion Treatment: Adopted epoxy zinc-rich primer + intermediate paint + polyurethane weather-resistant topcoat with increased film thickness, effectively resisting strong sunlight aging and sand erosion.
Upgraded Electrical Protection: All motors and electrical control cabinets are upgraded to IP55 dustproof grade, equipped with enhanced heat dissipation systems and dust filter devices to adapt to dusty environments.
Local Power Adaptation: All electrical components are fully matched with 60Hz local power grid. English operation manuals and English HMI system are provided.
Modular Delivery Plan: The whole equipment is disassembled into main beam, outriggers, trolley and electrical control modules for containerized shipment, avoiding over-limit logistics costs and supporting phased on-site installation.
Complete After-sales Support: Provided online installation guidance videos, full set of English completion documents, and delivered one-year wearing parts including steel wire ropes, brakes and contactors along with the goods.
4. Project Execution Process
Inquiry & Technical Communication: The client initiated inquiry and compared 3 manufacturers. We completed two rounds of technical optimization according to local power and climate requirements.
Business Negotiation: Adjusted the trade term from CIF Dammam to FOB Tianjin to help the client save overall logistics costs.
Production & Inspection: Arranged full-process quality control, and the client’s engineer witnessed the factory load test.
Packing & Shipment: Loaded into 40HQ containers at Tianjin Port and shipped to Dammam Port, Saudi Arabia.
On-site Installation & Commissioning: Provided professional remote video guidance for local construction teams to complete assembly and debugging.
Final Acceptance: The equipment passed official project acceptance and has been running stably on the precast production line. The client has intended to place a repeat order for 2 additional units.
5. Project Summary
This is a typical overseas crane export project driven by Chinese foreign infrastructure contracting business. We won the order not only by competitive pricing, but more importantly by localized adaptation for Middle East harsh working conditions, standardized English compliance documents, and efficient modular delivery solutions. We solved the core concerns of overseas engineering clients in terms of official acceptance, safe transportation and long-term stable operation, and established long-term cooperative trust with the EPC contractor.
